Cami is your typical ADHD girlie who has never been able to conform to the neurotypical world. She constantly chases dopamine and novelty, craves routine but gets despairingly bored of it as soon as she creates order and structure in her life. With a billion thoughts running through her mind at all times, she loves learning new things just for the sake of learning. As soon as she finds a topic she likes, she nerds out and hyper-fixates until she becomes a little expert—followed by immediate boredom and a drive to chase her next interest. Hence, her career path- and the bane of her very existence has been—well, for lack of a better word—very nonconventional.
As a millennial who grew up in the age of Disney princesses, part of a “hopeful generation” spoon-fed lies about how we were were supposed to have a “purpose” in this world, and that once we discover this “said purpose” we technically wouldn’t have to work a day in our lives because we would be doing what we love- and what we love would somehow equate to not working. What a load of bullcrap! Or was it?
On her idealistic quest to discover her purpose in this life and fit into this neuro-typical world, she tried and quickly excelled in a variety of fields and although she started many of these with immense love and passion, she soon got bored-some more quickly than others, some failed entirely all together. Somewhere in between landing her “dream job” at the time, and ultimately getting fired from said job due to a clique of 40+ year-old Mean Girls who, in their own desperate attempt to fill the voids in their unfulfilled lives, chose to bully the new girl mercilessly, she ultimately realized that she actually f*cking hates working for other people and the typical 9-to-5 structure was just not for her, especially post-pandemic!
After some heartbreak and tears, she felt the need to embark on a little adventure 14 hours away from “home”- to sunny California to re-figure out what she wanted from life. When life threw her a curveball in West Hollywood, where all her belongings got stolen, Cami hit another relatively low point, but finally, out of the chaos emerged clarity.
She decided that she no longer wanted to be tied down to one job or boss. The corporate world felt suffocating—with its demands to tailor CVs and job experiences per each job application, answer generic interview questions with dumb generic answers-like who even came up with this our biggest weakness being perfectionism and why does everyone have to answer this question with the same exact answer? Are we robots? It all just felt inauthentic.
She wanted the freedom to work on her own terms, to travel, to pursue all of her passions without constraint. She decided she wanted to escape the matrix. So, armed with her ADHD-fueled hyperfocus, she dove into the world of freelancing and digital nomadism.
There were countless late nights of research and endless online courses, attempted and failed entrepreneurial projects . But with every hurdle, Cami grew stronger and more determined. And now, she has turned her passions into her own business and income streams, sharing her journey with the world through her website.
From fashion to beauty to travel, Cami’s story is a tapestry of color and chaos, woven together by the thread of her unyielding spirit. Join her as she navigates the highs and lows of life as a digital nomad, embracing every twist and turn with open arms.
