Cami is your quintessential ADHD girlie who has never been able to conform to the neurotypical world. She’s a novelty seeker constantly chasing the next thrill, craving routine but gets despairingly bored of it as soon as she brings a certain degree of order and structure in her life.. With a mind that races a mile a minute, she’s a lifelong learner, diving deep into new topics with intense focus until she becomes a little expert —followed by immediate boredom and a drive to chase her next source of dopamine. Hence, her career path- and the bane of her very existence has been—well, —very nonconventional.
As a millennial raised on Disney princess dreams and the belief that everyone has a unique “purpose” in life, Cami grew up in a generation fed the idea that work wouldn’t feel like work if you were doing what you loved. But as she found out the hard way, that idea was more fantasy than reality. On her quest to find her purpose and fit into a neurotypical world, she excelled in various fields, but each time, passion turned to boredom—or outright failure. Somewhere between landing her “dream job” and getting fired by a group of Mean Girls who were actually 40-something year old women who had nothing better to do with their lives than bully the new girl- she realized that she absolutely fcking hates working for other people and that the 9-to-5 grind, especially post-pandemic, just wasn’t for her.
The corporate world, from the soul-draining and robotic job application process where you strip away your personality to fit some cookie-cutter mold, to the endless meetings that should’ve been emails, to the petty office politics that felt like high school drama, was suffocating. The relentless push to prioritize productivity over well-being, the stifling lack of creativity, and the harsh truth that loyalty and hard work often go unnoticed made it painfully clear: the corporate world isn’t just a bad fit—it’s modern-day slavery, legitimized by a society that crushes anyone who dares to think outside of the box.
Determined to break free, Cami set out on a new mission: to prove she could do life on her own terms, without being shackled to a corporate job. So, she packed up and moved 14 hours away to sunny California to figure out what she truly wanted. She didn’t have all the answers, but she knew she wanted the freedom to work on her own terms, to travel, and to pursue all her passions without constraints. She wanted out of the matrix. Armed with her ADHD-fueled hyperfocus, she dove headfirst into the world of digital nomadism.
It wasn’t easy—there were countless late nights of research, endless online courses, and more than a few failed entrepreneurial projects. But with every hurdle, Cami grew stronger and more determined. She began to believe that maybe it wasn’t all a lie. Maybe if she kept following her passions, work wouldn’t feel like work after all. From fashion to health and wellness to sustainable digital nomadism, Cami’s journey is a vibrant tapestry of color and chaos, woven together by her unyielding spirit. Join her as she navigates the highs and lows of life as a digital nomad, embracing every twist and turn with open arms.
